Creating your own Conditional Formatting customised icons (for non-developers)

Summary

Yellowfin's Conditional Formatting feature supports custom icon sets, allowing you to replace the default icons with your own images. This article walks you through how to add your own customised icons to the Conditional Formatting feature without any development experience required.

Steps

1. Download and prepare the file

Download the attached file CustomIcons.jar.XXX and remove the triple X file extension so that the file is recognised as a .jar.

2. Open the jar file

Open the jar file using an archive tool such as WinRAR or 7-Zip and navigate to the resources folder.

3. Replace the icon files

Replace the existing four PNG files with your own images. Ensure your files are named exactly as follows:

3.png
4.png

4. Place the jar file and restart Yellowfin

Copy the modified jar file into the following directory and then restart Yellowfin:

<Yellowfin home>\appserver\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\lib

5. Select your custom icon set

Once Yellowfin has restarted, navigate to Conditional Formatting and select the icon set named Custom Icons. Your new icons will appear there.
