Resolved

Hi,

We are investigating an issue that we have had with Yellowfin last week as it crashed a couple of times. When these problems happened it was needed to restart the service. However, we would like to investigate the issue.

Thus, can you help us to get the location of the log files so that we can further investigate this problem?

Let us know if you need any other information from us.

Best regards,

Felix

Hi Felix,

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you are having issues. If you click here it will explain what the log files are and where they are located..

Can I just ask a few questions also.

When you say Yellowfin is crashing, can you please enhance on this a little more, is it producing an error on the screen or is it hanging and appears to have crashed?

What version are you using? Can you check out / view the info.jsp ( Yellowfin_URL://info.jsp )

Paul

Hi,

I'm new to the community and using an older version of YellowFin product 7.1 that is installed as part of the BMC Remedy Smart Reporting application. Not to sure if I should start a new topic or not, please let me know if I should.

We are experiencing on a daily occurrence the Tomcat service gets into a hung state, users are not able to login and get to the webpage.

In terms of performance tuning we added parameters to better handle garbage collection. We have also increased the java memory allocation to 16GB and find that eventually once the memory reaches the max, Tomcat becomes unresponsive. We have two application servers in a clustered configuration, server 1 has the taskscheduler enabled and this is the server that keeps having trouble.

Long term, we are planning to upgrade the version, but in the short term is there anything we can do as it's causing frustration to our users. As their session gets disconnected and need to log back in again when service gets restarted.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Duy Do

Hi Duy Do,

I have split this into another ticket as it is a different issue. The new ticket number is 10830-09-25. Would you like me to close this ticket off for now?
