Simple Calculated Field Choose Field Type

When creating a Pre-Defined or Freehand SQL Calculated Field, you have the ability to choose the resulting field type:

When using the Calculated Field Builder to create a Simple Calculated Field this option isn't present, and is instead derived upon the return of data when clicking Validate.

Can we implement the ability to choose the Resulting Field Type for a Simple Calculated Field?

Hi Guys,

Just letting you know we are now working on this task with the plans to implement in 8.0.6 (should be released around June 2020)

We will have a little option that has 'Show History' next to the broadcast in schedule management which will allow you to see previous runs.

Will keep you posted on further updates.

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to let you know this feature has been included in the latest 8.0.6 release. There are however a few caveats to the current implementation,

- Freehand Calc Field with;

Text DataType chosen - Runs Validation on Save. This is not expected and will need to be addressed in the future, will circle back with problem link.

AutoDetect - Runs Validation on Save (Expected), Runs ReValidation on Edit (Not-Expected). Will circle back with problem link
