How do you remove the ability to see the report information on the Dashboard portlet? I don't want my users seeing the report details, fields and SQL code.

Hi Drew,

This, and other settings regarding what exactly is visible to users, will be configurable through user permissions:

This should adjust the specific setting you are talking about but I would recommend looking through all of the options.

I'd still like to have the Dashboard Report Menu just not the Information option.

Hi Drew,

Unfortunately, there is currently no option to control this specifically. I would suggest that you raise an idea topic so on the Community so our dev team can consider this for the roadmap.

As far as an immediate work around, I was hoping you could add some custom CSS to hide this specific option, but there is no specific class for this menu option, so any sort of work around would need to be done in javascript which I am hesitant to suggest.

Sorry for the troubles.

Nathan

Hello,

Has this issue been resolved to hide the information on the dashboard related to the report menu? If not resolved, can you supply of workaround to hide it.

Thank you,

Hi Allen,

Would you mind clarifying what you mean by hiding the information from the Dashboard portlet?

In current versions of Yellowfin, there is no information regarding Fields and SQL contained in this section. The only information contained here is the name and description of Reports contained on these Dashboards, as well as the Dashboard URL and embed link.

Hi Allen,

To clarify further, the below screenshot was from version 8. In version 9, the information configuration has been completely removed.

Hi Drew,

I just wanted to check in to get an understanding of what information you wanted to be hidden from the Dashboard portlet window. If you could clarify what you mean by this, I can investigate this further for you.

Otherwise, let me know if this is no longer an issue and I can pop this back to answered.

Kind regards,

Simon

Hi Simon,

I'm in version 9 and have uploaded 2 screenshots to demonstrate that you can see the information button and the info it provides. It provides a way to see an SQL statement which doesn't need to appear on the client side.

Thanks,

Hi Allen,

I believe you are actually opening the Report menu from the Dashboard in this case.

You can disable the Report menu from the Dashboard settings, or you can 'Hide SQL' from the Admin Console > Role > Role Functions page.

Hi Simon,

The hide SQL worked for the View SQL on the dashboard. How can I hide the report details and columns tabs? I need the report menu on the dashboard for the print and export.

Thanks,

Hi Allen,

Thanks for your response.

It doesn't seem that you can hide these two aspects of the Report Menu. I would suggest disabling Report Menus from the Dashboard completely and only allowing Users to export the full Dashboard, rather than on a Report by Report basis.

I can change this post into an Idea post now that I have clarified this, to be considered as an Enhancement Request for future releases of Yellowfin.

Kind regards,

Simon
