Moving fields between categories errors

In the prepare step of view management, I need to move multiple fields from one field category folder to another. When I try to do this, I get an error telling me that I cannot delete the field. When I click "ok" to clear this message, the system hangs. Initially, we are not seeing any errors in the logs.


I also tried dragging and dropping from tables to field category folder and received the same error message.

Hi Mahe, thanks for responding. However, I know how to do this. And doing so is returning the error that I described (that I cannot delete the field; which is not what I'm trying to do).


The fields I am trying to move are currently in another field category folder. Is it the case that if the field(s) are being used for a report they cannot be put into a different field category within the same view?

Thanks for your reply.


If you are moving fields to different category folders, you should not get any error message even if the field is being used in the report.

I have tested this and attached a small video clip on how I moved the fields.


If possible can you please record the steps and send it to me to let me know I can try in different method and see if I can replicate the same what you are encountering while you move fields from one Category to another?
