More Dashboard Layouts

The amount and kind of Dashboard layouts is very small. I can't have a tab with say two charts then 1 chart then 2 charts again. There needs to be more layouts. Yes we can get around this by setting up linked charts but it becomes a pain then you have linked charts everywhere. I think creating new layouts would be nice or a dynamic one like the canvas.

We are planning to re-write the current dashboard functionality to mirror the new report canvas functionality (found in v7.3+) in the next major release. This will give you the ability to create your own 'blank' canvas concept and create whatever you can come up with...removing the boundaries the system currently has. Mix this with the new JS charts and you have some really cool tools to wow your users. Check out the sneak peak post on some of the new features coming in v7.3+.
The dashboard re-vamp is slatted towards the end of the year....

Flagging this idea as 'logged' until we have implemented the dashboard changes (which are definitely planned for the very near future.
Once all implemented and it's out there in the wild we can mark this as 'completed' .
Will keep you posted on any updates.

Moved to Ability to hid report names from dashboard portlets
We have a client that also requires more flexibility in how reports can be laid out within dashboards as they find the current templates too restrictive for their needs.
Is there an update on when the ability to create custom dashboard layouts (Blank Canvas) will be available?
Do you have any news of which version this will be included in?

Our v8 release took a different focus with the launch of Signals and Stories. The dashboard re-write was put on-hold but is now 100% the focus of our development team. We will have beta plans around the end of April and the GA release of v8.1 planned in May/June time frame.
Thank you for the patience on this massive change in our dashboard functionality. We are working on some very exciting changes that will provide the integration and customization that our customers have been asking for.
