Metadata layer on top of views

When you have multiple views on the same dataset of parts of it, you have to alter names, formats, etc. each time. That can really be anoying and takes a lot of time.
It would be nice to have an extra layer, where you first make the translation of your dataset before you actually create the views. This way you have consistent naming and formatting. Views are created a lot easier.
There is a work around, that is editting names (and formats) directly in the repository, but that is a developer trick.
