Login error: Unable to find a unique user for your given user id.

Resolved

User Greg Dykes (gdykes@waynefire.com) is unable to log into Yellowfin. We receive the following error: "Unable to find a unique user for your given user id." as seen in the attached screenshot.

I tried deleting and then re-adding the user and it still does not work. We use AD to authenticate.

Please advise.

Thanks,Tam

Hi Tam,

Thanks for reaching out with the issue you're facing. As noted in our LDAP articles here in the Community, it's important to note that users who already exist will encounter this issue. To resolve this, you must convert these users to LDAP users. You can follow this guide to do so.

Let me know how it all goes.

Thanks,

Hello,

Nothing we tried worked so I deleted the user entirely from the Yellowfin database and tried to re-add him. We are now getting this error when I try to add him as a new user:

7a5cf80713b680f51af6b15bdb6d0c59

I suspect whatever is going on with this user existing in “another client organization” is what caused the problem of him not being able to log in originally. Please advise.

Thanks,

Tam

Hello Tam,

Yes, according to this error, this user already exists in one of the client organisations. Accordingly, remove the user from the current client organisations. & try to include him in yellowfin.
