Edit (07-05-2018):
MongoDB actually has another option for connecting to BI tools that, in my experience, works a bit better than the Progress DataDirect driver. It is also free which is a bonus.
I have created this article which explains in more detail the full process to get this up and running:

Hello Hair,
At this time we cannot connect directly to MongoDB. It is, however, possible to use a third party connector for JDBC and MongoDB. Please look here:
https://www.progress.com/jdbc/mongodb
You can upload any JDBC driver or connector via the plugin manager. From here you can install a third party JDBC driver by clicking Add. After installing your JDBC driver, create your new data source and choose the generic JDBC driver. You should then be able to choose the newly installed third party driver from this list.
Does this get you connected?
Thanks,
Ryan
