Column summary default format

Hi, quick question - is there a setting in Administration > Content Settings to change the default format for column summary style?

/704d240d57d3ee747c7cad15ff49ad2b

I've had a dig around here and in the wiki for 7.4 and 9, so apologies if I've missed the explanation somewhere. In the above example, all (other) default font sizes are set to 10 so don't seem to also apply to this setting.

Thanks,

Brendan

Hi Brendan,

Thanks for your question.

It looks like the 'Default formatting for the summaries of this column' is the default formatting settings that are configured in the Admin Console > Content Settings > Report Settings. In my case, I have set my default font to Roboto Mono, and all my Reports default to this font (I'm assuming with a hardcoded font px) unless otherwise specified in the Report Formatting > Summary Settings.

In the example below, I have left the default font (Roboto Mono similar to the Column Heading), however, I have changed the styling to bold and applied a purple colour.

Let me know if this clears things up for you.

Thanks Simon for the quick response - so what I'm trying to achieve is changing the font size for that summary style across the client org - ie how to change the default settings which could then be adapted at the report/column level if required.

Kind regards,

Brendan

Hi Brendan,

Not a problem!

So as far as I can tell, the column summary formatting is determined by the default font specified in the Content Settings > Font section, where only the font family can be specified. No other styling can be applied.

Considering that you are able to apply styling to the Summary section at the Report level for individual Reports, I would expect that this should be included in the Content Settings > Styling section, so that your particular use case (applying specific styling globally) can be achieved.

I'm going to change this Question post into an Idea post to be considered for an Enhancement Request.

I will update this ticket with any relevant information with regard to the process, or if I'm made aware of a way to get the result that you are after.

Kind regards,

Simon
