An error occurred retrieving the results from the database. MDX is invalid.
Resolved
Hello,
I created many reports in Yellowfin 7.1 which its source was a cube then I imported to Yellowfin 7.2 but the report can't be displayed. The issue comes from its view.
When I want to open the view for edit, I get this error message:
An error occurred retrieving the results from the database. MDX is invalid.
I'm not sure if its because of different Yellowfin Version, Our database has been changed as well. its just one view which is used by many reports.
How can I edit this view and fix the issue?
Many thanks
Hassan
Hi Hassan,
Thanks for reaching us.
As per my understanding, you have created report and views in the version 7.1, and have exported them and imported into version 7.2 Yellowfin and the reports are not working.
To start with, we don't recommended exporting from 7.1 and importing into 7.2, due to changes in the schema on 7.2, you will face issues with reports and views.
Yes, the issue is because of different Yellowfin versions. The best idea is take a backup of Yellowfin configuration Database, restore it on a different computer or database move your Yellowfin folder and run the Yellowfin update and continue using it.
Sorry, unfortunately there is no quick fix, even we try to fix one issue, you will find issues again in the future.
Also please send me the screenshot of info.jsp, you can find it by typing <Yellowfin URL>/info.jsp
Let me know if you have any questions.

Mahesh
