yellowfin keeps loading

Resolved

I've tried to make some changes in one of the views and now the whole system is stuck.

I looked at 'yellowfin.log' and saw the following:

YF:2017-11-08 09:17:27: WARN (JDBCConnection:call) - Error occured when rolling back uncommited changes on connection: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: terminating $

org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: terminating connection due to administrator command


could you suggest what should i do to fix this?

Hello Sharon,


From the error message, it's a Postgres database that isn't working.


Is your Yellowfin config installed on a postgres database?


If so, you might need to enable Volatile Sources and JDBC Verify as well to ensure smooth(er) operation

Hello,


Thanks for the message and we're sorry to hear you're having some trouble with Yellowfin.


As things look like they are stuck (or possibly out of sync) would it be possible for you to stop and restart the Yellowfin service on the system?


This should clear down any issues and allow the system to start from fresh again.


If you could grab us a copy of the log directory (and compress it) and attach it to this ticket, we can look into the cause a bit further.

i've restarted the server (the entire ubuntu server).

attached a zip file with all the log folder.

I have looked at your logs, the error:

YF:2017-11-08 09:17:27: WARN (JDBCConnection:call) - Error occured when rolling back uncommited changes on connection: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: terminating connection due to administrator command


Means that your database connection or your database has crashed (postgres) and should be restarted.


I see that Yellowfin is running as expected, but it doesn't have a database to connect to!

After the database restart, your Yellowfin service should return to normal.

Hi Pete,


Thank you for taking a look, i'm not sure which DB i need to restart, i've already restarted my Redshift instance (my main data source).

Is it possible that it is a local yellowfin's DB? cause my redshift works fine.

Also, when i click on Logout, i get this screen and when clicking on 'Yes' or 'No' doesn't do anything.
