I would like the date picker to display week number like the one in 7.1 did.

This is definitely a valid request, and I actually believe this is more of a defect than enhancement, as we have removed functionality which I believe should be there.
Will keep you posted on any updates, though if you ever wanted to chase us up in the meantime, please let me know.

Per the response from David I have raised this as a defect in our system. (#5592)
I am going to switch this to defect logged for now, but I will keep you up to date on any progress made on this, and please let me know if you have any additional questions here.
