User prompt Filters for Relational Operators

HI Team,

Can we give user prompt for selecting Operands in Filter Conditions?

Like if I have a filter column No of Days, is it possible for user to select the operand which ever he want (No of days less than or greater than, etc ) when accessing the Report.

I believe, this similar issue is raised by Venu Gopal K.

I have converted his ticket into idea ticket.

Is it ok if I merge your ticket with Venu Gopal ticket.

Hi,


I have requirement where i have three prompt values:

1. Department

2. Relational Operator (<,>,<=,>=,<>,etc)- This also should be user prompt

3. Years of Service (Measure)

The above three filters should be user prompt, as i know 1 and 3 but i don't know how to provide user prompt for option 2. Would be great if you can let me know any workaround or direct solution.

Example:

Scenario 1: When user executes the report, the selection would be as follows:

1. Department ---> Finance

2. Operator ---> >= (greater than or equal)

3. Years of Service ---> 8


Scenario 2: When user executes the same report second time, the selection would be as follows:

1. Department ---> Sales

2. Operator ---> = (equal)

3. Years of Service ---> 12


Hence i am looking for the above prompts should be Dyanmic selection.

Hi Venu Gopal,

Thanks for your email with the scenarios.

At the moment this is only possible while designing the report but not while executing the report, user will not be able to choose unless they edit the report.

This will be a good idea to give the flexibility for the user to choose the operators while running the report.

If you are happy, I can convert this ticket to idea.
