Translation in incomplete on .pdf exported
Resolved
Hello
We are facing a problem on report translations when exporting to .pdf format.
The .pdf exported is not including the translations of some texts (title and colunm names charts), despite the translation in report is ok.
Attached a print of the report translated and the .pdf with errors.

Hi Alexandre,
I hope all is well,
So my understanding of this is correct can I confirm you are wishing to translate from English to your chosen language within the export of a PDF file, is this correct?
Going forward with this I want to point you in the direction of this link; http://wiki.yellowfin.com.au/display/USER72/Using+Content+Translation within this it should give you an insight as to how this works.
With this it might also be a good idea to check out a previous discussion on this via our forum link here; https://www.yellowfinbi.com/YFForum-Translation-process-?thread=201721
If you can get back to me with an update on this I would appreciate this greatly as I would love to assist further so that we can have this issue resolved. I look forward to your reply.
Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,
In fact the original report is in Portuguese language (so the YF I´m using to create the reports) and we are translating it from Portuguese to English and Spanish. The translations works properly on the reports itself when I change the web navigator (Firefox or Chrome) but the lack of translations occurs on the .pdf file exported from the translated report.
By the way this previous thread was also posted by me when I´ve working with translations in yf and it was helpful.

Elias

Hi Alexandre,
Thank you for getting back to me regarding this issue. Going forward I would like to try and replicate this myself, so if you can get back to me with the version/build of Yellowfin that you are using I would appreciate this greatly.
Having received this I will then attempt to rpelicate this issue that you have. Can you confrm to me of any specific requirements I would need when buildoing this report to exort?
I look forward to your reply on this.

Hi Mark
Thanks for your reply.
I´m using YF 7.1.
Build
2015092
Java version: 1.7.0_80
It happens mostly when exporting reports with multi charts, using Fireforx our Chrome (that I´ve tested)
I´m not using any text widget on charts. The texts that are not translated into .pdf are charts components (title, axle names)
Best regards

Hi Alexandre,
Thank you for getting back to me regarding the version/build of which you are using, unfortunately we can't offer a fix for this version/build as it has recently become an unsupported version (7.1) with this we would recommend upgrading to the latest version of 7.2 or 7.3.
This aside, from what I can see with the images attached, the report does not seem to have translated from Portuguese to English for the following:
Title, Description and Column Name
Can you confirm that these are the only 3 areas affected?
Going forward I have since tried to tried to replicate this but I was unable to do so, I have also tried this within our latest build of 7.1 and 7.2, with this can I ask if it is possible for you to upgrade?
I await your reply on this.

Mark

Hi Mark
I´ve exported some reports to .pdf format and apparently the reports created with just one chart are exported correcly but all reports created with 2 or more charts (multi-charts) are ignoring the translations, not for the 3 itens, but to all itens of charts (title, columns descriptions, legends...)
We was planning to upgrade the YF to the last build of 7.1. version, since upgrading to new version will require a 'full' test into our reports (we haver more than 300, so it will be a hard task...). Despite this we will try to test the problem into new versions.

Hi Alexandre,
Hope you had a good Christmas.
Just wondering how the plans are for the upgrade? Should we close this off until you perform an upgrade?
Thanks,
Davd

Hi David
We still did not have time to upgrade the yf. Please, feel free to close this issue.
