Integrate Yellowfin with a password management tool

Hi,

As we know, YF grabs the encrypted password from the web.xml file. Is it possible to get Yellowfin to grab the password that is stored in a password vault instead, by-passing web.xml?

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

I'm pretty sure that would require some change to the YF codebase to interface with a password vault's API, which would vary depending on which one you wanted to connect to. Can you give me a bit more of an idea of the use case you're thinking about? Which password vault do you have in mind?

Kind regards,

Chris

Hi Chris,

That would be Cyberark.

As we know, the YF DB password is encrypted and stored in the root\web-inf\web.xml. The use case consists of getting the app to by-pass the web.xml(storing a dummy value) and retrieve the password from the password vault instead.

Thanks,

Nick
