How to configure a selectable list of 'starts with' or likes' trimmed from the report filter?

Greetings all,

Hope you're all well.

I would like to trim the results of a field to display the first two characters that I am after for my selection and then be able to select these values from the filter (as a list) when running the report.

For example 'AD2012-23-05' would show 'AD' in the report filter and when selected, display all the records that start with AD in the report.

The same goes for 'EO139-2500M-0083-FMS1' which would be 'EO' and show all the records when this is selected from the report filter from the same list.

Is there any way of doing this?

Hay Rafael, i have same problem with you, where i also only want to take part of the existing content, used filter starts with ,,,but not worked, thank you for your respon

Hay Mark, nice to meet you

i am from Indonesia, i have same problem with Rafael Ramos

my problem is...example

description 1 = effective server backup until end bla bl bla

description 2 = about server backup will be restored at the end of june


and i will only retrieve all sentense that start with BACKUP SERVER (not include effective and about)

i have used start with at the filter but doesnt work

Hi Ndaru,

Thank you for getting back to me. If you are using Yellowfin and have this installed then one can obtain the info.jsp by adding this to the end of the URL; /info.jsp

Alternatively you can reach out to BMC (Your Account Manager etc.) to obtain this information.
