How do I connect to an access database?
Answered
When I try to set up a connection to an Access database, I see it in the drop down list, but it is grayed out.

Hi Lori,
I smacked my head against the wall on this for a little while, as connecting to Access is particularly tricky due to its ODBC requirements that mandate additional 'moving parts'. (Yellowfin is great at working with JDBC compatible systems, but ODBC systems are decidedly more difficult.) We have an internal guide for connecting to Access, but I can't seem to get it to work properly. I need to clarify with my colleague in the UK who wrote it, just to make sure that I'm not missing anything. I'll chat with him first thing tomorrow, and I should have something back to you mid-day US time.
Stay tuned!
Thanks,
-Conner

Hi Lori,
Good news, I've got it all sorted! Naturally the problem was that I misplaced a comma on one of the Yellowfin configuration files. I gave the guide a quick refresh so that it's a bit easier to follow, and made it public. You can find it here: http://community.yellowfin.bi/knowledge-base/article/how-to-use-ucanaccess-to-connect-to-access-databases-using-jdbc-only
If you run in to any snags or have any questions on getting things set up, please let me know!
Thanks,
-Conner

Hi Lori,
Excellent, glad to hear it! I'm going to go ahead and mark this question as answered, but you know how to get a hold of us if there is anything else that we can do for you :)
Thanks,
