Error exporting PDF: org.w3c.dom.DOMException: INVALID_CHARACTER_ERR: An invalid or illegal XML char
Resolved
Goodmorning,
when exporting one of our reports to PDF I get the following error message:
An error occurred exporting your report to PDF.
The error message in the Yellowfin log (attached) is:
YF:2018-10-17 10:52:18:ERROR (MIReportOutputAction:A) - Error exporting PDF: org.w3c.dom.DOMException: INVALID_CHARACTER_ERR: An invalid or illegal XML character is specified.

Hi Support,
We have not come across this error. Does the problem happen on all reports or just one?
From what I have been reading this can happen if you have a name for your table or for a column in your table that is not legal as an XML element name. For example, these things cannot contain spaces or certain characters in the name. I am therefore wondering if this is the case here? Can you please have a look at the report and check the names of the table/columns being used for this report. It might be interesting to create a test report based on this one and add / remove columns in the report to see which one might be causing this.
If this is not the case as above, please let me know.
Thank you,
Paul

Great Paul,
I found the problem bij removing the predefined html rows one by one.
There was one row with an incomplete html definition.
It is fixed now.
Thanks for your quick respons.
