Email authentication failed

Hi,

I am using YELLOWFIN BI 7.3V. I tried configuring OUTGOING MAIL SERVER but it is showing "SMTP Authentication failed.

javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: 535 Incorrect authentication data "


Below are the screen shots of work around.

can you plze help me out in resolving the issue.

If you want, I can send you the link for GoTo Meeting and we can do remote session.


Otherwise to resolve the issue, we need you to send me the configuration table from your Yellowfin DB. Just export it to CSV and email.

I need to look into that table and will send you the required details on how to fix the issue.


Can you please tell me what Build are you currently using, also what I would like to know is:

1. Did you upgrade from an older version to 7.3 did you do new install of Version 7.3?

If not

Tell me the Version and build of the older version.


2. Is this a new setup of SMTP or an old setup?

i installed new version 7.3 directly and SMTP is also a new setup....

plze find the attached db file. let me know that is the one u r asking for.

Hi Chandana,


The file "web.csv" you have sent is not the one I am looking for.

In Yellowfin Configuration Database, you will find a table named as "CONFIGURATION", you need to export the data to CSV format and please email that CSV file.

I couldnt find the file which u are asking for. I am a fresher n i m still in process of learning Yellowfin. Sorry for giving trouble. can u plze locate the file.

Thanks for your reply Chandana.

You need to speak to your DBA, they will have an idea where the Yellowfin DB is installed on.

Or else you may need to speak to the person who has installed Yellowfin.

Thanks for the response. Actually I only installed Yellowfin in my system and I am using MYSQL as a backend database.

C:\Users\chandana\Yellowfin 7.3

Hi Chandana,


When you installed Yellowfin did you choose HSQL or did you enter MYSQL details?


If you have used HSQL, then you need to zip and send me the file configbd.data in the path

<Your Yellowfin folder>/data


Or


If you have configured MYSQL, then you will find the CONFIGURATION table, you need to export the data to .CSV file and send it to me.
