Display message when changing content that is linked to a Dashboard

Right now when editing a report, like deleting a chart, or editing a View, there is no message that Dashboards will be affected. Dashboards will attempt attempt to display whatever it can, but this frequently results in incorrect or unusable content being displayed.

Can there be a message alert when editing content that will affect a Dashboard, and can the Dashboard display a message or other alert that the background data has been altered?
