Dashboard shows 'Tab is currently being edited by another user' when trying to edit

Getting the following message when trying to edit a dashboard which is not being edited by another user.
This tab has been edited by another user since being loaded. The dashboard page must be re-entered before it can be edited again
The same problem 
This can occur if the dashboard is in fact already being edited by another user.
OR
If you are trying to edit a dashboard which is yet to be added to your dashboard.
E.g.
