Dashboard - Display Chart and Table

I'm requesting that an enhancement be made for dashboards to display both the chart and table so long as both fit within the dashboard width. To get around this I use the 2 column layout and create a duplicate report. This enhancement would solve this issue.

Hi Larry,

Got some good news, and some vague news for you.

We're revisiting the dashboard layouts in Yellowfin 8.0 later next year, and the play is to have it fully customisable.

One of the things that has been discussed is the ability to use table widgets.

So in theory you could drag in your chart, and a table, and display them next to each other.

Now this specific enhancement has not been set in stone, so I'm setting this to 'not planned' as yet, as it's honestly a bit early to tell.

How I could possibly offer a good suggestion to get you what you were after right now.

Use 'drill-through' reports.

Simply, copy your chart report, and have that copy as a 'table only' report.

Then set the drill display to pop-up and you would end up with something like the below, which to most users will feel like it's all on the dashboard.

Drill set up:

43c443638b97596a938a4664f17bfbc1

Dashboard result when clicking on chart:

74eae01dd9dbdb83361b1b77f339eafe

Hope this gives you what you were after.

David

Hi Larry,

Typically these sorts of requests are best created as "Idea" Topics

I will convert this to one now!

All this time, I never realized that the "Question" button was actually a combobox

This is a clean solution. A lot of my people like looking at charts so long as they know what they are looking at anyway. IMO, the pop-up window displays faster then rendering another report and my users navigate better with the pop-up than the new window alternative. My boss for example completely exits out... EVERY TIME! haha!
