Be able to cap frequency of broadcasts

Richard Convery shared this idea 3 years ago
Completed

When a user creates a broadcast they have the ability to set the regularity of the scheduled send. The enhancement would be to set a maximum frequency of x days, rather than allowing users to send per hour or per minute.

Hi Richard,

I hope all is well,

To get a better understanding of this you are requiring an option to give you Days > x Amount of Days to run. This would then then this would run daily for those x amount of days stated? Let me know if that's the request.

Mark

Hi Mark,

The 'issue' is that a user has the ability to run a broadcast every minute or every hour if they wish. This can be too much and place unnecessary stress on the server. The restriction would be to only allow them to set periods of days between schedules, as a maximum delivery frequency.

Does that help clarify?

Hi Richard,

Apologies for the delay and thank you for clearing this up, this makes sense and sounds like a good feature to limit users on what they can do when it comes to broadcasting, especially in relation to the stress caused on a server by creating a broadcast every minute/hour.

With this Richard, I have gone head and raised this with the development team.

Mark

Hi Mark,

Following conversations with Nathan, it appears that this is already possible.

Navigate to:

  • Left hand menu
  • Adminsitration
  • Configuration
  • System (2nd tab)
  • General settings
  • Minimum schedule interval

I'll close this ticket.

Thanks.
