Additional Options for Pre-Defined Date Filter Values
Completed
When choosing Date Filter Values, it would be good to have some additional options available in the Pre-Defined Period drop down menu.
Currently it has "This Calendar Year to Date" and "This Month to Date"
It would be useful to see additional options, such has "Last Calendar Year to Date" or "Last Year's MTD".
In addition it would be great if users could add their own custom calendar options in the form of a plug-in.
Just to update everyone following this enhancement, while there are no current updates on its progress, there are workarounds, such as using a combination of filters to achieve the same effect, such as:
Start date greater than equal to <LAST CALENDAR YEAR>
and
start date less than equal to <TODAY>

Hi Lily,
I hope all is well,
Further to the logging on this Enhancement (originally by Reut), I want to question whether or not the workaround that Chris provided is enough to use as a solution for this ticket logged;
If you could let me know that would be great. I look forward to your reply.

Mark

Mark... I do not want to speak for Lily, but I do not believe this is a cure all for many missing options. Though the workaround does work for some cases, it does not even work for the two that were originally mentioned (see below).
Thanks,
Zack

Here's a workaround I've used for Last Calendar Year to Date. I use a combination of "not between" logic with "This calendar YTD" and a linked filter that is offset by a year with "between" logic (see below). Hopefully, this can be helpful in the short-term.
Last Calendar YTD:
I tested the same logic for Last Year's MTD, and it seems to work in my data set.

Hi Zack, Ben, Lily,
Thank you for the updates/input, going forward as this is yet to be implemented within YF, would the workaround provided by Ben be of an option to you Lily?

Mark

Hi Lily,
I just want to touch base to question whether or not the possible solution mentioned by Ben would be of a good option for you? If you can let me know that would be great. Maybe we could then get this idea marked as completed and continue to move forward with the solution provided?
(Thank you for your input Ben/Zack)
I look forward to your reply.

Mark... It is simply a workaround (not a solution). This will work for when I want to have predetermined ranges. However, this will not work when I want to give the user multiple ways to filter the date range (which, in my opinion, is the main idea behind "Pre-Defined Date Filter Values"). So, yes.. this is a nice workaround. But, I would not call this a solution.
Thanks,
Zack

Thanks,
Zack

Hi Zack,
No updates so far, but I can see that a few clients have brought it up since.
I actually have a meeting coming up today with the project management team, so I'll bring it up then and see if we can get it evaluated and an answer for you.
Kind regards,
Chris
