Trying to divide a number by a number in another row.

Hi, first question :) Managed success so far by hitting enough buttons but am struggling with this. I am trying to divide a persons hours by the contracted hours. Their hours is broken down to several codes as shown in screenshot, but because their contracted hours is an entirely different piece of data it sits in another row which wont allow me to divide by it?

Hi Jonny,

Thanks for getting in touch! To divide two columns, you will need to either use a calculated field or an advanced function. Typically the calculated field is the best route to take here:

Is this something you have tried?

Hi Jonny,

As general a thought, if you are looking for resources to help in learning Yellowfin I would recommend the following:

  1. Yellowfin University
  2. Yellowfin Wiki
  3. Yellowfin Community Knowledge Base

Hi Nathan

Thanks for the reply! Those resources have been great in developing everything to date. I've tried Calculated fields but the division wont work because the value is on another Row since it doesnt align with the time codes. And because I want the calculation for every line with time I get a zero value. Alternatively I was looking into Advanced function to push a contacts contracted hours to every row but no luck there either.

Thanks! Jonny
