My terminsl didn't shut down properly and now when i try and start yellowfin server up it doesnt seem to work properly
ignore, works now after a restart of the computer

Looking at the post by Rory we can see that a simple restart resolved this issue. Without investigating this further we can't really give any further information.
Hello Mark, a restart did not solve the problem. (App version 7.35)
When starting YF I get this error "Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space"
I increased my memory size following this post https://www.yellowfinbi.com/resources/forum/YFForum-JVM-Max-Memory-thread-90378 but the error still persits.
In order for us to track this and not have this confused with Rory's Question, can we please raise a new ticket within our community. Explain the problem with as much information as possible. I will await this new ticket.
