We have played around with this concept in the past but unfortunately it is difficult to ascertain much useful information from log scraping along, and the information obtained is often inconsistent or not helpful. One of our larger clients uses splunk to monitor their broadcast/login load (with debugging on).
If you are interested in large scale analysis this might interest you, though I cannot vouch for its effectiveness.
