Link Drill Down function does not work with Mandatory filter option on linked report

I'm trying to set up a dashboard with two reports, a table report and a chart. The table has a drilldown on it that passes a field to the chart report's filter. This works as desired only when the chart's filter is in-list and prompted. I don't want the child report to show any values until the user drills on the table report. But, if I try to make that child filter mandatory, it doesn't work. If I add a default option to the child filter, it doesn't work. Is there a way to get the effect that I want?

Hi David,

Unfortunately, the functionality you are seeking is not available when linking reports using drill-down.

If your primary goal is to only show a graph after drilling, I would suggest that you employ drill-through instead. So, when an entry on your primary table report is drilled into, you can set a pop-up to appear, drilling through a secondary report that contains the desired chart.
