LInk between the person and broadcasts or emails
Answered
Hello
I would like to know if there is a way to identify the relationship between an event and an user in when the event code is a broadcast or an email.
I'm finding that the IpSource is '0'
Thanks,
Jorge
Hi Jorge,
yes I see what you mean, IpSource is always 0 when the EventCode is either 'RPTBROADCAST' or 'EMAIL'
Well, I've found that IpSource actually has a correct value when the EventCode is 'RPTBROADCASTCREATE' and also 'RPTBROADCASTSENT', so hopefully that will help you with your auditing:
however unfortunately I could find no way to link an EventCode of 'EMAIL' to the user, so I will raise a product defect for that.
regards,
David

Hi Jorge,
one more thing, I also found that if you send an email via the Share menu item then it does populate the IpSource column with the correct value. It's only when the email is sent via the Broadcast menu item that the IpSource column isn't populated.
So that means all bases are covered now (I think), if you want to know who created or sent a Broadcast then the IpSource column will hold the correct data for records with EventCode being 'RPTBROADCASTCREATE' or 'RPTBROADCASTSENT'. And if you want to know who sent an email via the Share feature then once again the IpSource column will hold the correct data for records with EventCode = 'EMAIL'.
Hope that helps your reporting.

Hi Jorge,
I'm just checking up on how you got on with this matter, and whether you'd like this Question closed or not?
