Is this the intended functionality of searching the views?

Hi there,

Since upgrading from 7.1 to 7.3, when searching in 'select a view' the search functionality seems as though it's searching the fields in the view rather than the title.

Is this the intended functionality of the search?

Thanks :)

Dani

Hi Dani,

no, it should search through the view titles.

But the thing is, I've just tested this functionality over here in the same Yellowfin build and it is correctly searching the titles for me (I have attached a short video to demonstrate this to you).

This makes me suspect that I've misunderstood you, so if you could please give me a bit more information about the bug then that would be most appreciated.

Thanks David, but what you're doing is what I am referring to.

Sorry, I thought I had attached a screenshot in my original post!

If, however, I type the full title name, the view appears.

Hi Dani,

I checked this functionality with the developers and they say it's designed that way, i.e. to search through view fields as well as view names because when you're dealing with hundreds of views with unmemorable names then it is all too easy to forget which one you want, however you might remember a field that you need for the report, in which case you could enter the field name (or part thereof).

Hi Dani,

just cleaning up my work list and I saw this Question is still open. Do you consider that its status can be changed to Answered or is there something further you would like to ask.
