Information on Save Applied Filters in Storyboards

Hi Yellowfin

When working with Storyboards in Yellowfin 7.1, there is an option called 'Save Applied Filters' that shows in the filter menu on the left side of the screen. As far as I can see in the wiki, there is no documentation around how this feature is used, or how it saves.

It appears that you need to run with the filters you wish to save, while in edit mode, and then save the Storyboard. This usually works, but has been inconsistent.

Are there any other steps that need to be taken, or caveats around the Save Applied Filters functionality that would explain why sometimes the saved filter is cleared?

Hi Nick,

I hope all is well,

To my knowledge you can set default filters at the report level and those will be the defaults, as the filters are based from the report... but if you have adjusted the filter setting, it's asking the user if they want to keep the applied filters vs. the defaults. You can still adjust the filters later but it allows you to apply the filters on the storyboard whilst you are working on it.

We are yet to place this within the Wiki, but I have contacted the correct department on this, so hopefully soon we can have this up and running for all to view.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Mark
