How to set the width of the first column while Exporting to Excel?

Hi,


in some of the reports, when I am exporting to Excel, the Excel file contains the columns in normal width. However, the width of the first column is really big even when the column is null or contains 2-3 characters.

How can I correct that? Are there any settings about it?

Hi Dim,

Further to this I have tried to replicate this at my end but to no avail... Can I question (and get you to try) the following please:


  1. When selecting the Export option for xlsx did you keep the default options turned on; Keep Formatting and Format Column and Row Size?
  2. Within the Report view how does the column width appear?
  3. Within the Column Formatting options we do have the option to select the "Column Width" it might be worth looking into this to see if it has any results to your exported excel files.
  4. Does this happen with any other file types when exporting?

Further to the above this could have something to do with hidden characters within the data for the column of which this is appearing to be wider than normal. It might be a good idea to look at this further to rule this out and if possible export to plain text to see this. I look forward to your reply.

it seems the problem was the filters values that were exported as well trying to fit in the first column.
