How to integrate Jasper reports with Yellowfin?
Answered
Hi,
Searching through the web it seems like iReport has been replaced with Jaspersoft Studio as the state of the art open source JasperReport editor.
Do JasperReports created with Jaspersoft Studio work within Yellowfin? Which JasperReport editior would you recommend?
Could you please guide us with the process.
Do JasperReports created with Jaspersoft Studio work within Yellowfin? Yes, Studio-based jrxml files should work fine. If you run into compatibility problems (I doubt it), consider a backwards save from Studio v6.4 to a previous version. This is supported in Studio.
Which JasperReport editior would you recommend? I recommend using the latest version of Jaspersoft Studio, v6.4. iReport is not maintained any more.

Hello Krishna,
Thanks for reaching out with our question. Unfortunately, I have no experience creating or working with any JasperReports and thus cannot recommend any particular editors or solutions.
What I can tell you is that Yellowfin does support JasperReports. You can follow our Wiki Page, which details the process of importing a JasperReport into Yellowfin. To do so, you'll need the JasperReport's xml file, and to have Yellowfin connected to the Data Source you built the report against. The rest is just importing and running the report!
Does this information help?
Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for your reply. Yes this is helpful. What i understood from your reply is that we have to create a JasperReport by using third party toll and need to import that to Yellowfin.
Thanks
Krishna

Hello Krishna,
You're correct. We support importing existing JasperReports into Yellowfin. You'll need another tool to create the reports.
Does this answer your inquiry?
Thanks,
Ryan
