How to create a calculated field with a constant date value

I need to create a calculated field in my query that will serve as a temporary reference date against which other date values from the database will be compared. The reference date will not be pulled from the database. Instead, I want the query to prompt "What is the reference date?" The query will then show the variance of date values in my tables from the reference date.

How can I do this?
