How do I get a license to stand up version 8 so we can look at it and see how we feel?

Thanks for reaching out. I've reached out to your Account Manger, Ashley, on your behalf. She will reach out to discuss this with you further as Support doesn't handle licensing.
On the note of not seeing text inputs, the comment box functionality broke with a recent Chrome update. This will be fixed in an upcoming upgrade to our Community site. In the meantime, you can either use a different browser or click the 'Change View' icon towards the top right of the text box to see your text inputs:
