How do I clear out cached cached reports?

I have enabled the content category 'version history' option, but now want to delete this reports.
Do I just change this to 'current version only', and they cached ones get deleted?

That is correct, once you flag a content category as 'Current Version Only' , a background process will run at night and clear the cached reports.
