how can i sort certain grouped items by date

i have a report with data that i want to sort by date,
Essentially there are groups and i want to sort those groups by date
Example: Oranges, Apples, Melons. i want to sort these by date
ex:
Oranges - 7/1,
Oranges 7/2
Oranges 7/3
Melons - 7/1
Melons 7/2
Etc...
