Hello Byron,

You can use custom SQL by creating a Freehand SQL report. When creating a new report click the 'Advanced Authoring' toggle, and you see the option for Freehand SQL.

I hope that helps.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

David,

I work for UPS and we are in UAT with a company called I-Sight that uses your product to create reports.  I do not see that option.  Can you slow walk me through some instructions.  We are creating reports in UAT but will lose them when we go live so I offloaded reports to SQL but I do not see how to load SQL back into the system.  Does this make sense?

Hi Byron,

Thank you for the update and context. Have you discussed this with i-Sight?

You should be able to export the entire report to a file and then import it into the live system later. Is that not an option right now?

Exporting to SQL is there.  There is no way to import a file back into Yellowfin.

I exported the SQL from both Reports and Dashboards.  However, in UAT, there is no way to import it.

Hi Byron,

If the Advanced Authoring toggle is not there then your account is not a member of a role that allows you to use it. I would discuss this with your Yellowfin admin.
