Configuration database properties
Answered
Hi!
We're moving our Yellowfin meta data DB (Configuration database\ repository) to a new sever and would like to know where in the application files\ data do we need to update the new DNS name of the server, beside the source connections in the application itself.
Thanks!
Tal
Hello Tal,
Thanks for reaching out with your question. Luckily, this is a pretty quick task. Once you've updated the source connections in the web.xml to point to the migrated Database, you need only change one setting within the UI. This is the 'External Base URL' which prepends to the embed links / share links your YF hostname or IP address. This can be accessed via 'Administration' > 'Configuration' > Gear Icon > 'General Settings' > 'External Base URL':
This is the only internal reference to a hostname or IP Address within Yellowfin.
Does that help?
Thanks,
Ryan
