Can you link filters on a dashboard of reports with sub-queries?
I have two reports that have basic append sub-queries. Each report has a single "equal to" filter (e.g. Product Type). I want to display both of these reports on a dashboard and use a single dashboard filter to update both reports.
I have gone through the process of selecting the filter from one report as the filter visible on the dashboard and linking the visible filter to the filter in the second report. When I save and view the dashboard, and select a value in the filter on the report with its filter set as visible updates. The linked filter report does not update.
As a test I tried to achieve a similar outcome with similar content report but with no sub-query. In that case the linked filter worked fine on the dashboard.
While setting up the filter link with the sub-query reports I received no error or warning stating that filter links will not work with sub-queried reports.
Is this a bug or an unpublished limitation of sub-query reports?
Hi Steve,
Thank you for reaching out. In my simple test on what I understood to be your question, I was able to link filters on an appended sub-query through another report within the dashboard. I have attached screenshots of my dashboard, sub-query, and report setup. In this example I have appended separate copies of the ski-team view, with identical columns (note that after the gender filter has been applied to the 'linktest2' report, both columns in the 'linkfilterdash' report reflect this change).
Please let me know if I have misunderstood your question. As it is difficult to determine whether or not you are experiencing a bug, it would also be helpful if you could attach screenshots of the dashboard, sub-query report setup, dashboard analytical setup, and the report itself.
I look forward to your response.
Regards,
Nathan

Hi Steve,
I was just wondering if you have had any luck in resolving this issue? Please let me know if you have any additional questions, or if you would be okay with me closing this ticket.
