Add fields to Access Filter
Answered
Hi,
Can i add field to be part of Access Filter?
I want add another field to this access filter:
when i try add the new field i see only few options and not the access filter i want to update.
How can i add this field to the correct Access filter?
Thanks,
Sofia
Hi Sofia,
Thanks for reaching out. The selections under Field Settings > Access correspond to your available Reference Types, not the Access Filter name itself.
This is with Ski Team data:
I have an Access Filter named User Country, but there's no Reference Type, and thus no option here.
If I click on 'create new access filter':
and 'create new reference type':
I can now see the Reference Type available for my field:
I recommend reading through our Restricting Data With Access Filters Wiki entry. If you look under the Configure References Type header, for example, you'll see "Each source filter that you create needs to be categorised by a reference type. This is used to link the data in your source system with Yellowfin meta-data. It also provides a way to categorise the type of filters that you can make available for your views." There are also steps towards the bottom on how to assign Access Filters to a View.
Please take a look through this and let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
Regards,
Mike
