Remove Report Name and description in the exported excel file for all reports

Dear Yellowfin Team,

To remove the report title and description, there is an option available at the individual report level, as shown below.

b8d0efa3081c2102c9b0f17238664b82

However, we are unable to find an option (such as a toggle button) to apply this change to all reports from the Administration > content settings.

Could you guide us on how to disable the title and description for all reports at once, instead of modifying them individually?

Additionally, is there an option to perform this action via a third-party source, such as using REST APIs, rather than through the portal?

Hello Arun Thomas,

In response to your inquiry, I would like to inform you that within the content settings, you can set the pixel value to 0. By doing so, the title and description will not be visible to anyone. This works for me; I suggest you to try it as well and share your results with me.

Hi Yamini,

Thank you for your response.

Applying the recommended settings does not remove the title and description rows. Instead, it minimizes the row height, even with the font size set to 0, while the content remains in place, as shown below.

If not from the front-end, is there an API way to do it ?

Thank you!

Hello Arun Thomas,

It is not possible to remove all titles and description from all the reports at once through the admin console. As an alternative, we can minimize them as demonstrated before, which will cause them to disappear. Could you please provide a screenshot of the modifications you have made in the content settings for verification?

Hi Yamini,

Below is the settings we tried,

810cfe841ccd6c92bfa3de598574460c

which resulted in the below exported file

7f0c7c537d709f89a654805cc4e88e81

We understand that this is a work around. But we were looking for an option to not have the rows there just like how it was possible at the individual report level.

Hello Arun,

I hope you are doing well

I looked into the settings and wanted to let you know that there’s no way to change the settings for all reports at once from the admin console, except for the workaround I mentioned. You can adjust each report individually, but not all at the same time.

For now, I suggest you to use the workaround I shared as it is effective. If you have any more questions or concerns, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help!

After exporting the report to Excel, open the file, and manually delete the rows or cells containing the report name and description. https://community.yellowfinbi.com/topic/31753-remove-report-name-and-description-in-the-exported-excel-file-for-all-reports escape road 2

As a frequent user of admin settings, I understand the frustration of not having a bulk edit feature. Unfortunately, many platforms lack such functionality. Have you considered integrating tools or scripts to automate the process? For instance, similar to how Papa's Freezeria allows customization, you could streamline report settings through APIs. Seeking community input on best practices can also be beneficial!
