Java version for Custom Advanced Functions for Reports

Hi.

I want to build some Advanced Functions to implement at the Report level.

I am following Yellowfin's wiki:

https://wiki.yellowfinbi.com/display/USER74/Advanced+Function+Basics

In Point 5, it is recommended to use Java 7 JDK. If I understand, this version is no longer supported. Should we use it? If not, which one?

Best Regards,

Tiago

Hi Tiago,

Thanks for your question.

Just so you're aware, that pages references the Yellowfin version 7.4 - you want to have a look at https://wiki.yellowfinbi.com/display/yfcurrent/Advanced+Function+Basics that said, in this case the screenshots have not been updated. It is recommended to use at the very least, Java version 8.

Thanks for bringing this to our awareness, I'll look into getting these screenshots updated.

Kind regards,

Chris

Hi Chris.

Thank you for pointing that I was using version 7.4. I didn't notice.

According to what I understood, I can use the most recent java version. Because the text in the wiki, although not updated, suggests I should use an old java version.

Thank you.
