Run a scheduled report only showing changes from last run report.

Hi All,

I am trying to figure out how I could run a scheduled report that will only show me the changes that have occurred from the last run report? I have a report that runs every hour from an SQL query. However what I would like is to only show the data that was not present in the previous report. I know I can have the SQL script run to limit the data from the previous hour, but what happens if this report fails to run for 2 consecutive runs?

Could you please confirm the below to better understand your question?

  • where exactly you are looking for those changes? in the report data or in audit content or in the Database etc..
  • May I know what type of report it is?

Hi Priya,

I have a query that pulls data from a database that shows what time and date someone did a particular action. What I would like to know if I can do is to run a report showing all of this data for the first time. Then for the next report only show the data that wasn't included in the first report. Then for the 3rd report only show data that wasn't included in the first and second report. Does this help explain a bit better?

As per your requirement, I have tried to achieve this but I couldn't find any feasible way to achieve the requirement. also, I have checked with my wider team & the team has confirmed that unfortunately, it is not feasible within the Yellowfin it seems.
