Hello,

I trying to upgrade a very old release to latest (7.1).

Can I import backup XML of the configuration that include DataSource and reports to the new release?

Thank you

Guy

Hi Guy,

Thanks for reaching out to support with your question. Configuration data would not be compatible between different YF versions; in this situation you would want to get the configuration data upgraded to the desired build prior to importing possibly through a db-only upgrade process. Keep in mind older versions before 7.35 require a slightly more granular upgrade process as outlined here-

I'd recommend getting in touch with an account manager to see if your organization has extended services available for potential assistance with the upgrade process, as large system upgrades like this can require a number of personalized adjustments depending on the environment.

We also have an Idea post that aims to bring non-reporting objects into the export / import capabilities, you can subscribe / add to to this post for updates for additional visibility and tracking if this sounds like a solution.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,
Eric
