How can i make bar chart with different colors ?

Dear Yellow Fin Team,

Is it possible to make bar chart with different colors. In Pie chart with default color option will get different colors but in Bar chart we have option like max 3 colors to specify.

Request you to provide Bar chart with Default option to get multiple colors.

Hi Sairam,

There are several ways to customize a bar chart's colors. If you want to color specifically by what dimensions are used, I would recommend setting up organization reference codes for these, and then selecting to color by this: http://wiki.yellowfin.com.au/display/USER73/Org+Reference+Codes

If you wish to change the default order in which colors are displayed you can adjust this from the content settings in the administration panel as seen below:

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for the reply, In my first screen shot i took Bar chart with out specifying any color, so its returning default color (Only one color) - Actually in this place for each bar i required a different color (See the expected in screen shot 1).

In second screen - option available to add 3 colors, which is useful but we cannot fulfill our requirement with this scenario.

Hi Sairam,

The auto-chart allows you to place your dimensions into the "color" section of the chart and have the colors adjust accordingly. Is there a reason why this will not work for you?

Your second option here is to use JavaScript charts, which allow a large amount of customization.

Hopefully one of these options will work for you!

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for the solution, But if we are using a Proportional Chart or any other charts apart from Auto Chart, what is the possibility to give our own preferred colors. Kindly required your help on this and also can you explain me with an example about JavaScript Chart.
