Hi,

We would like to have the ability to export to excel without having to run the report in Yellowfin first and without considering the rows display limitation.

Hello Michal,

Thank you for sending this in.

This sounds like an interesting idea, to make sure I submit this request correctly could you tell me if you think the best location for such a function would be within the browse screen and then right-clicking on the report would display an export option?

Then this would allow you to select the file type e.g. PDF, Excel, CSV, HTML.

Kind regards,

Nathan Goddard

Hi Nathan,

I think that the best location for such function should be next to the "Go" button - see below.

The purpose is to decrease the load on the server by passing the rendering.

For any additional info, please let me know.

Thank you,

Hi Michal,

Thank you for your response.

There is already a function that allows you to share the report without loading it, you can do this by right clicking on the report in the browse list and selecting share. Currently there are options to Distribute, Email, Embed and Link. I think adding an option to download here with the row limit available from this window would be a suitable option for you. What do you think?

Hi Nathan,

I'm afraid it is not the best solution, since in broadcasts the user promotes filters doesn't reflected.

It mean that the filters should be per-defined inside the report.

In addition, having it under the "Share" option is not intuitive to the users.

Adding the new button as i suggested will allow the user to run the report each time on different values and will be in-front of the user eye.

let me know what do you think.

thank you,

Michal

Hi Michal,

Thank you for getting back to me.

I understand your point and have given an example workflow process below for the user journey;

1. Load report

2. Set filters

3. Click Go

4. Export

5. Select Excel

NEW STEP

6. Define Row limit for export.

This would then show as an option when exporting to excel in the window below;

This would then be within the current workflow for exporting to excel and allow you the additional function of defining the row limit. (please note that this would not allow for the overide of a row limit set within a view or data source as this is a pre-defined hierarchy).

Please let me know what you think.

Kind regards,
