REST API: Password expiry / change password prompt
Answered
Hi,
We currently use the REST API on occasion to set user passwords
Just wondering if it is possible to set the password expiry to false or otherwise stop the change password prompt when a user first logs in?
I know we can do that via a DB update but is it possible via the REST API on any version?
Thanks
Dean

Hello Dean Flinter,
My name is Nishant Garg from the Yellowfin Technical Support Team. We have received your support request, and I will be your primary contact on the following ticket:
Ticket Number: #34290
Case Title: REST API: Password expiry / change password prompt
Issue Overview:
Change of password configuration using RestApi
Next Steps and Workarounds:
Unfortunately, it is not possible via the Yellowfin REST API on any version. You can check our guide for available RestApi endpoints.
https://developers.yellowfinbi.com/dev/api-docs/current/
However, as you know, you can execute an update against the configuration database on the IpClass table after creating/updating the user:
As I tested, when a user is created or has their password set via the REST API (such as POST /api/admin/users or user update endpoints), YF's backend service automatically flags the password as expired/requiring reset (PasswordExpired = 'TRUE or 1' in the IpClass repository table).
Let me know if it helps!
Sincerely,
Nishant Garg
