Hello Ronnie Abrahiem

The files you mentioned are related to the Yellowfin configuration database. Here's a brief overview of each:

  1. Configdb.backup: This file is a backup of your configuration database. It can be used to restore the database to a previous state.
  2. Configdb.data: This file contains the actual data of your configuration database. Metadata (reports, dashboards, users, etc.)
  3. Configdb.lck: This is a lock file used to manage database access and ensure data integrity during operations.
  4. Configdb.lobs: This file stores large objects (LOBs) such as binary data or large text fields.
  5. Configdb.log: This is the transaction log file that records all changes made to the database. It is essential for recovery purposes.
  6. Configdb.script: This file contains the SQL script used to recreate the database schema and data.

To manage the size of these files, consider the following:

  • Regular Backups: Ensure regular backups to prevent data loss and manage the size of the backup files.
  • Log Rotation: Implement log rotation for the Configdb.log file to prevent it from growing indefinitely. This can be configured in the database settings.
  • Database Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks such as archiving old data, optimizing the database, and cleaning up unnecessary records.
  • Yellowfin Cleanup: Delete unused reports/dashboards, Remove old cached report data, Clean up audit/history tables, Remove unused users and roles.

Thank you,

Yamini Naidu
